Cozy + Dreamy Couple’s Session | Zolfo Springs, Florida | Nick + Zitlali

A beautiful day in the fall spent capturing their love story in a flower-filled field in Zolfo Springs, FL. Zitlali and Nick shared with me their love story and their love of being wild, free and adventurous individuals. I excitedly suggested to them this beautiful flower. A field full of beautiful blossomed flowers, tall grasses and a golden hour time frame is exactly what they were looking for to help them feel like themselves during their photo session. Know that when it comes to booking a session with me and choosing me to tell your love story, I will ALWAYS go for the locations that help best tell your love story and the one that most feels like you. You just tell me where and I’ll be there, plus, who doesn't love traveling?! #travelphotographer :)

During their initial consultation, Nick shared with me that he and Zitlali love taking each other’s photos on their film camera and they love cozying up together. This is where we got the idea to bring a cozy blanket and their film camera to help capture that part of their love story and WOW! Florida gave us a beautiful chilly day with the temperature in the 60’s. If you know Florida then you know that a chilly day in October is rare! We knew automatically that it was meant to be and we couldn't have been more excited and happy to have their session during this time.

We arrived at the flower field, picked a perfect spot and we set up their cozy spot.I told them to treat this as if they were on a date:  to cuddle, laugh, kiss and take pictures of themselves on their film camera as they normally do on their dates! This quickly helped them ease into their session and within no time they started to have fun.

We then transitioned into the flower fields where they held hands, ran through the fields, danced and to throw it back in time they began to play “ring around the rosie” where they held hands, ran in circles and laughed as hard as they ever could, naturally, no forced laughs or smiles. Nick gave Zitlali a piggy back ride and they had an endless amount of fun and I as a professional third wheel captured all their little moments, all the details, all the laughs and smiles! I was able to capture their real and candid love.

It neared 7pm and the sun started to fall, as we were wrapping up I couldn't help but notice how giddy and happy they looked as they were wrapped up in a blanket all cozied up and that is when I remembered that I had a pair of lanterns in my car from a previous session I had done a week before. I ran to get them and I gave the lanterns to them and told N + Z to keep cuddling, laughing and doing everything they naturally do as they hold their lanterns. We were able to create such a romantic and dreamy scenery from a last minute idea that came to us.

We all left this session feeling excited, happy and our hearts so full. At the end of the session Nick + Zitlali couldn't help but share with me that they hadn't had this much fun in a while and they felt as if they truly needed this and that it really felt like a fun date for them. Nick shared with me that he is camera shy but not once during our session did he feel shy or awkward, he just took the moment in & made a date out of his session with his soulmate & they both left the session feeling extremely happy and so content. Happiness and comfortability is and always will be the goal. Always treat your couple’s session as a date and have fun, you’ll see how magical it’ll turn out to be.
