A Beautiful Mexican Inspired Florida Wedding in Fort Myers
I am absolutely obsessed with this wedding! As a Florida wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing many incredible weddings. Each of these weddings holds a special place in my heart — and this one was no exception! It was such an honor to photograph this dream Fort Myers wedding and get to experience how my clients incorporated their unique cultural traditions into their special day.
Ruben and Britney’s wedding was a beautiful day celebrating a fusion of their culture and religion. It was so important to them to pay tribute to their Mexican heritage and their Catholic roots. The end result? A truly unforgettable and unique Florida wedding celebration that I’ll remember forever!
This couple tied the knot at a picturesque Catholic church before hitting up the dance floor at a breathtaking Florida wedding venue to celebrate their union with their friends and family. Being able to capture it all was such a joy. I’m so grateful to have had the privilege to take these Florida wedding photos for this couple for them to enjoy for years to come!
Ruben and Britney’s Beautiful Florida Wedding Day
Ruben and Britney are such an amazing couple! Not only are they a perfect match, but you can just feel the love they have for each other whenever you’re in their presence! They are so kindhearted and fun-loving. They love hard, which made for so many intimate, romantic, and memorable moments throughout their wedding day. This made my job as their Fort Myers wedding photographer so much easier! They loved each other loudly and without hesitation, which allowed me to capture so many authentic, candid moments.
From the ceremony to the reception, you could just feel the love pouring from them on their Fort Myers wedding day. Britney and Ruben were surrounded by so much love from their guests! Not only were their family and friends so warm and welcoming, but they were also genuinely excited and happy to be a part of their big day! As a Florida wedding photographer, it made me feel even more honored to be able to photograph them on one of the happiest and most important days of their lives.

A Stunning Florida Wedding Ceremony
Their wedding ceremony was a dream! Held at the beautiful Jesus the Worker Church in Fort Myers, this gorgeous church was an obvious choice for this couple. Featuring beautiful stained glass windows, natural lighting, and gorgeous wooden detail, this venue had everything Ruben and Britney desired for their Fort Myers wedding ceremony!
The church was decorated with beautiful white roses, adding a romantic touch to the ceremony. Placed gently on either side of the aisle, these white roses were so fragrant and led the way to the altar. Surrounded by their loved ones, the bride walked down the aisle with her mother and father at her side to meet the groom. Following a traditional Catholic ceremony and mass, Ruben and Britney became husband and wife!
As a Fort Myers wedding photographer I couldn’t help but feel moved by all of the love surrounding them. You could feel how incredibly loved they both are and how much they truly love each other. There wasn’t a dry eye in the church, but that didn’t last long with an unforgettable reception soon after! Following their Catholic ceremony we headed straight to Marian Hall for their Fort Myers wedding reception where so many sweet, memorable moments took place!
An Unforgettable Mexican Inspired Florida Wedding Reception
Britney and Ruben really know how to throw a party! They love to dance and have a good time, which is why it’s no surprise that the couple not only had a DJ and a group for their wedding reception, but a mariachi band as well for their Florida wedding reception!
It was important for the couple to have Mexican inspired touches included in their day to honor their heritage. So many elements of their culture were woven into their celebration, which was so fun to experience. During the first half of the reception, they chose to have mariachis play their favorite songs, as well as traditional Mexican songs. Britney and Ruben danced as the mariachis played on various instruments, while their guests surrounded them and cheered them on having the time of their lives at this Florida wedding venue!
Another way the couple chose to incorporate their culture into their reception was to play “Vibora de la Mar.” Known as the Sea Snake, the traditional Mexican game where the guests get involved and the goal is to knock them off of chairs as they run around the happy couple! Once they’re down, the guests will pick up the newlyweds and toss them into the air. It was so much fun for everyone involved and made for some great photo opps for this Mexican inspired Florida wedding!
The best part about this wedding is that it was so authentically Ruben and Britney! There’s nothing I love more than getting great photos of a bride and groom that truly embody who they are. These are the moments I live for as a Florida wedding photographer!
A Celebration of Love at This Fort Myers Wedding
The fun only continued as the night went on! The couple put so many unique touches on their Fort Myers wedding reception that I absolutely adored! In addition to sparklers, they also had an open bar with handcrafted cocktails. There were LED signs with the words “Shot O’clock!” on the dance floor so the couple’s guests could all join in for a shot. At one point, the bartender even dressed up as a bear to hand out shots at this Florida wedding! It was so much fun to witness and truly unforgettable!
Everything about the reception felt so celebratory and fun, which I feel really embodied Ruben and Britney’s personalities. They’re both so much fun. And honestly, who wouldn’t want to celebrate a love like theirs?!
A Heartfelt Wedding in Florida
Britney and Ruben love their family and it was so important for them to honor them on their big day. One of the things that made this Florida wedding so memorable for me and everyone involved was the amount of fun and heartfelt moments. The father-daughter dance and the mother-son dance were all incredibly emotional. Both the bride and groom could be seen tearing up during these beautiful moments they were able to share with family.
What made this day even more magical was the fact that they decided to create a new tradition in order to create a day that represented them. The newlyweds decided to not only do the traditional father-daughter dance and mother-son dance for their Fort Myers wedding, but they also decided to include the mother of the bride and the father of the groom in on the action as well! They didn’t want anyone to feel left out and they wanted to share a moment with all of the people who have supported them through the years. Moments like these warm my heart as a Florida wedding photographer!
It was such an honor to capture this part of Ruben and Britney’s love story! I had an amazing time watching this couple celebrate their union with their guests. This Florida wedding and the way this couple blended their religion and culture is one that I’ll always remember!
