Florida Beach Disney Princess Inspired Engagement Shoot
Engagement sessions are some of my favorite photoshoots to capture. There’s nothing more magical to me than a couple wanting to document their love and celebrate this new, exciting milestone in their relationship in a way that is most authentic to them. As a Florida engagement photographer, I’ve photographed many engagement shoots at all kinds of locations and with different vibes to match the couple’s personalities and interests. Whenever I work with couples it’s always my goal to create an experience that’s special and unique to them. Whatever the theme of the engagement session, I’m here to help them create the experience of a lifetime!
It isn’t often that a couple approaches me wanting to take a casual Florida sunset beach engagement shoot to the next level and make it a little bit more…enchanted! But, this was exactly the case when Michael and Jasmin reached out to me to book their Disney Princess inspired engagement shoot.
Michael and Jasmin - An Enchanting Love Story
When Michael and Jasmin contacted me to photograph their fairytale engagement session, I knew that it was going to be an absolute dream! These two are truly what love stories are made of. Michael and Jasmin met in a high school chemistry class and have been together ever since. They’re so much fun to be around and you can feel the love radiating from them. They love to make each other laugh, go on adventures, travel, and explore new places together. Another thing that they love is the Disney movie Tangled, which is why it ended up becoming the main source of inspiration for their Florida sunset beach engagement shoot.
To say that Tangled plays an important role in this couple’s love story would be an understatement! Not only is Tangled one of Jasmin’s absolute favorite movies, but it also ended up becoming a huge piece of their proposal story!
When choosing the perfect location to pop the question to Jasmin, Michael looked to her favorite movie for inspiration. It was at a local lantern festival that Michael decided to ask her to marry him. They spent the evening standing in the rain, writing love-filled messages to each other on their lanterns, and releasing them into the night sky. Beneath the glow of hundreds of lanterns, Michael got down on his knee and asked Jasmin to marry him.
With a love story like theirs, it only seems fitting that a Tangled engagement photoshoot would be in store for them!
Setting the Stage for a Princess Engagement Shoot
This Rapunzel engagement shoot was all about the details…and the location! Jasmin, Michael, and I worked closely together during the days leading up to the fairytale engagement session to make sure the day went off without a hitch. My goal was to find the perfect location for their Florida engagement session, help them find Tangled inspired props, and make their dream a reality!
I met with the couple at Turner Beach at Captiva Island for their princess engagement shoot. As a Florida engagement photographer, I knew this would be the perfect place to capture their vision! This beach has stunning crystal-like colored sand and beautiful blue water. The cotton candy sunset was the perfect backdrop for their Florida engagement session. Turner Beach had everything I was looking for to take this Disney princess inspired engagement session from day into night!
Staying true to their vision, Michael and Jasmin showed up in Rapunzel and Flynn Rider inspired outfits! Jasmin wore a short, flowy purple dress to their Disney princess inspired engagement shoot. Featuring a small braid and little flower accessories in her hair, Jasmin pulled off Rapunzel’s style beautifully. Michael wore a black t-shirt and a pair of dark brown khakis, putting his own flare on Flynn Rider’s look.
It should come as no surprise that when it came to finding props for their Disney princess inspired engagement shoot, this couple delivered! Not only did Michael and Jasmin bring handmade paper lanterns to their Rapunzel engagement shoot, but they also used lighting to set the mood. String lights and candle lanterns were used to pull elements from the movie into their session. The couple even brought a wooden canoe to the Disney princess inspired engagement shoot to recreate a scene from the movie!
For Michael and Jasmin’s Tangled engagement photoshoot, we really were able to bring their vision to life! What I loved most about this engagement session was that it represented them and was true to them.
